CHAUTAUQUA SNIPPETS REGISTRATION INFORMATION
This year Chautauqua is hosting a short film contest to be known as Chautauqua Snippets. The idea behind this contest is to develop, feature, and promote talented artists, filmmakers, and social media gurus in a contest that has cash prizes. The scope of the desired snippets is left fairly broad with the theme: Southern Alberta Living.
Winners announced on July 1 during The Chautauqua's Got Talent Finale in Raymond, AB
Prize money is as follows:
1st place winner will receive $500.00
2nd place winner will receive $250.00
3rd place winner will receive $100.00
IN ORDER TO COMPETE IN “CHAUTAUQUA snippets” A COMPETITOR MUST ABIDE BY THE RULES & REGULATIONS
1. Eligibility criteria
Contestants must live in the Province of Alberta
People of all ages are invited to submit
Amateur filmmakers only
Submissions created by professionals will not be accepted
Everyone involved in your film has to be a volunteer—no paid cast/crew (rewarding crew and cast members with food and drinks is recommended)
2. Deadline for competitor submission is 11:59 pm, Wednesday, May 22, 2019
3. Submission requirements
Submissions should address this year's theme: Southern Alberta Living
Non-English language entries will be required to have English subtitles at the time of submission
Film length is required to be a minimum of one minute, but cannot exceed one minute and thirty seconds in length
Upload your submission to YouTube and submit the video link in the registration form below
The film can be any combination of still photos, videos, and music
All videos are expected to be created with good taste. Videos that contain words, songs, lyrics that are explicit in nature (swearing, inappropriate language) will not be posted. It will ultimately be left up to a screening representative that will vet all submissions to ensure that they are appropriate for this contest.
Each film will be required to have the supplied Chautauqua logo located in the film for a minimum of three seconds
The applicant is responsible for all copyrights and has secured all necessary rights for picture, sound, participants, and locations featured in the film, and exhibition will not violate or infringe upon any rights, including but not limited to music, images, and content. The applicant is legally authorized to enter their short film in the contest and all uploaded films offer their right to have the film used by the Chautauqua comprised of Stirling, Raymond, Magrath, and Cardston.
The applicant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Chautauqua from and against any claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney fees and costs of court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, publicity, screening, and loss of or damage to the screening film shorts entered.
Finished film shorts will be posted on this website and available for viewing by May 27, 2019
It is possible that films will be shared on Alberta Chautauqua's social media accounts
Voting begins May 27, 2019 and will continue until 11:59 pm on June 26, 2019
Individuals may vote up to once per day from May 27–June 26, 2019
